“Lovely apartment, fabulous views, great location”
This was our second visit to the Kormuluk Apartments and we weren't disappointed: number 1 is very spacious, clean and comfortable and, as everyone has already commented, it affords excellent views of Kalkan town and harbour. The apartment is split into two and our son occupied the downstairs annexe bedroom - I was quite anxious before we travelled but we needn't have worried - it was perfectly fine and he loved the privacy! It would be perfect for two couples sharing, for this very reason. Judy was extremely efficient from start to end, offering advice before we booked, organising taxi transfers and even returning an item I had left behind - thank you again for a first class service! A special mention also to the housekeeper, who is a lovely lady - she doesn't speak English but we somehow managed to communicate very well. She does an excellent job. Kalkan was as lovely as we remembered. The walk down to the town was perfectly fine although we didn't always walk back - taxis are very reasonably priced - 11 TLR in July. We were again spoilt for choice with excellent restaurants but our favourite this year was Sade, hands down. If you arrive late on your first day/night, call Kalkan Kebap take-away - good food and quick, free delivery to your apartment! The apartment also has a BBQ so there's the option of home cooking too! Kalkan is a must-visit resort if you like a bit of sophistication and low-key entertainment. It's hilly but quaint and authentic with it. And yes, it's probably a bit pricier than other Turkish resorts but you get what you pay for as they say...
“An other beautiful week”
My wife and student daughter booked that apartment from Judy again. I must say : Again a beautiful , relaxing week in the apartment above the Kalkan bay. The temperature was down to 33 degrees in September- better than August. We spent the daytime on the sandy beach of Patara (10 min by car) and the evenings on the large terrace with the very nice view directly to the Kalkan bay and sunset. Later in the evenings we took a 10 min walk to the old town of Kalkan with a large number of excellent restaurant and valuable prices. Komurluk No1 has a big cosy living room with an integrated kitchen corner, 2 bedrooms with seperated washrooms,a roofed internal terrace and that outsatnding baywatch terrace. The appartment is very clean, excellent equipped with everythig needed : incl fast WIFI, silent aircon with sleep mode, full equipped kitchen. 3 Sat-TV sets with hundereds of Channels incl UK, German French, Italian, etc.and DVD and HIFI Audio System. The Appartment compund is quiet and very well organised and cleaned by local staff. The carparking is just next to the appartment. This time we travved via Antalya airport - a 3,5 hrs long drive. Travel via Daman takes is much better-just 2 hrs, We will def. come back to that beautiful place.
“Beautiful, relaxing vacation in a wonderful apartment”
My wife, student daughter and myself had two very relaxing weeks in No 1 Komurluk Apartment. The apartment is much bigger than expected , and perfectly equipped. It has a wonderful big balcony with a direct view to the Kalkan Bay. We had the breakfast and the sun downer on that balkony and spent hours there. The silent airconditioning is a must and works perfectly. Kalkan has no big hotels and just individual tourism. That causes a nice Turkish authentic town atmosphere. The service staff speaks English fluently and is very friendly and helpful. They are showing up every day
“Peaceful, Beautiful and Exhilarating.”
The No.1 Komurluk apartment is the place you want to stay if you're in Kalkan with an amazing view of the town from the patio to the common pool everything is just spot on. Peaceful envoirment, Friendly staff and everything you need for a perfect holiday. The town is just a 10 minute walk away with everything in walking distance. A beautiful apartment with everything you need.
“First time to Turkey”
This is a super apartment located in a beautiful part of Turkey. Within easy driving distance of Dalaman airport for the more adventurous, the location is absolutely perfect. Being first timers this year, we enjoyed a week of good weather, friendly neighbours around the adjoining apartments, and a good exchange rate which allowed us to indulge ourselves rather more than we had intended. With lots of opportunities and things to do if you have a family, Judy has a perfect place in which to begin your Turkish adventure. We would happily stay in Kalkan again and certainly recommend others sample the culture.
“Home from home in a breathtaking location..good for the soul”
It's no surprise that every review is grand here. The apartment is just lovely. Amply equipped with everything you might need, including a fantastic selection of books and DVD's, lots of UK plug adapters too ( we never used ours!)bathroom hairdryers that really are efficient, even things like salt and pepper in mills, bits n bobs that others have kindly left as did we ( including a box of sugar cubes that'll last about a year by the way!) . The welcome pack was a lovely surprise, soft, beautiful Turkish bread, delicious cheese and succulent fat tomatoes, flavour bursting little cucumbers, butter portions and jam, a pint of milk, teabags and some sachets of coffee.Plus two litre bottles of water. Very thoughtful and generous. The apartment is over two levels.. the master bedroom on the upper floor is stunning. You can lie in bed at with the curtains open, floor to ceiling window with sliding patio door , mesh screen across if you want to listen to the sounds of the boats chuggng across the beautiful bay.. at night you can lie and be mesmerised by the Moon on the sea, the fairy lights of the town across the bay. We loved to hear the brief but soulful chanting from the Mosque over in the town..it was so soothing, and we even recorded it, although we are not religious, this was just so atmospheric. Downstairs the living room/kitchen is a good size with comfortable sofa/daybeds ..when it got a bit hot, we retreated there to read a bit..or to surf..using the fantastic WiFi dongle Judy kindly leaves in a wee green plastic box just under the TV shelf. This costs only 30TL = £10 to top with a 1GB. Four of us were able to use and not use up that allowance in our week there. So easy to go into the Turkcell shop in the town and just give the "mobile dongle" number Judy leaves very prominently placed to the staff and it's topped up magically by the time you get back to the apartment and switch it on..just the same as a PAYG top up anywhere. This permitted use of the local network is SO much cheaper than roaming costs anywhere in the world, so thankyou Judy!. Jim and I are self employed and were able to stay connected while we chilled out! Jim had several business enquiries ( he is a woodcarver and an artist) which he very promptly dealt with, then got back on with topping up his tan! It is a lovely apartment, and the rear courtyard is a nice place to have meals, too, while the second bedroom, which we only used twice when one of us was a bit restless ( lol..read snoring ;-) ).. is large and spacious and its bathroom is up to the same fine standard as the master bedroom. The town is a steep walk down. I would say that if you have any aches n pains around mobility, either hire a wee car ( cheap n cheerful) or get taxis ..12TL-15TL depending on where in the town you are collected from, and always metered. The Turks are so courteous, and helpful, that once when we had had a very busy day, someone saw us looking for where to go to get a taxi, came out of his bar and called us a cab. Yes, it was his uncle, but the price was the same as ever! Restaurants are abundant..so many, you'll never go to them all!! Baharat was the one we loved best, as every member of staff was so warm and kind, the food was first rate and the bill was surprisingly low. Gironda was the only one that let me personally down, selling "Champagne" at over £8 for a glass..and it was cheap prosecco, which I don't like at all.. Judy gave us so many tips, including, get some Turkish Lira and take English sterling..we got better exchange rates in Kalkan than at home! No commission. Everywhere changes your ££. ATM charges you 2.75% ( your own bank that is not Turkey) so that was good advice. Oh and the transfer from and to the airport is the same price everywhere..we were met at the airport in a lovely air conditioned minibus and handed bottles of water and some prepacks of biscuits for our 1hr40mins transfer by the company meeting ourselves and our two friends. On the return trip we had a lovely chap driving us who chatted easily but not excessively and before we knew it he had us at the departures entrance of Dalaman airport, ending a wonderful week with a warm smile. Highly recommend the whole experience, although we would hire a car now, we think, if we have the chance to return one day, which we would certainly like to!
This apartment is the perfect place for a relaxing break, clean and spacious bedrooms and a balcony with a million dollar view. Pool big enough even when all the apartments are occupied and helpful staff on site should you have any issues. It's a little out of town but the walk in is easy and flat which is rare in Kalkan plus taxis are plentiful and reasonably priced. You don't get this view if you if you stay in town. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
“Comfortable, well equipped Apartment.”
We stayed at No1 Komurluk apartment during June and July. With there being four of us ( 2 couples ) the layout of the apartment was ideal, with the two bedrooms on separate floors which gave us all plenty of privacy. The apartment itself was comfortable, spacious and extremely well equipped with lovely sea views from all three terraces. The real plus points for us were : Stand alone drinking water cooler WiFi, which worked well. Totally separate bedroom layout. Middle courtyard between kitchen and second bedroom, especially good in the afternoon if shade is needed. The management team looked after us really well, and the lady who came in on a daily basis really tried hard to please and kept the apartment really clean. The apartment is situated in Komurluk which is a really lovely part of Kalkan which adds to its overall ambience.
“Wonderful location. Lovely apartment. Would stay again!!”
Judy made sure everything was top class!! She even arranged our airport transfers. Apartment was well equipped and nothing was missing!!(even salt and pepper and DVDs) views were amazing and location superb. I have stayed in Kalkan many times and komurluk is by far my favourite. Close to town, quiet with the best views of the wonderful sunsets. Apartment was ideal for a couple who liked their own space. Bedrooms were large and roomy and we would stay there again!!!
Beautiful views from all (three) balconies/terraces! Very comfortable and well furnished, air conditioned rooms. A real home from home with plenty of cups, glasses etc meaning that the dishwasher was fully utilised! Good pool at lower level - a few steps back up though! Very hot while we were there so did not walk into town much (although when cooler, this would be a pleasant stroll) but taxis were cheap and efficient so not a problem. Two other things: 1. We went with friends so the fact that the two bedrooms were at opposite ends of the property was very convenient and 2. The housekeeper was very friendly and efficient at keeping the apartment spotless.
