“Fantastic setting. Lovely, quirky house!”

Wonderful village, everything you could hope for. Great walks, fantastic views, peace and quiet and a lovely, friendly pub within walking distance. The house was very well stocked and a real character property. Loved the variety of classic furniture and the fires in the living rooms were a treat. Waking up and sitting on the balcony in the morning was wonderful. A weekend just wasn't long enough, we hope to stay again for longer next time!

This has been the second stay at Thornleigh and love it. Only an hour max drive to great trail centres its great for us. Nice local pub with good food and beer too.

Was surprised by how much I enjoyed our stay, a tranquil setting, everything you needed was in the house. Lots of visitors about but relaxing, the tides going out and being able to walk out to the island was something, There is plenty to do if you want an active holiday or if you are like me just going at a slower pace. It was funny watching the people trying to get a mobile signal, sometimes it was ok, then it could disappear.

We loved our stay in this house. It is a beautiful large family home with wonderful panoramic views of the estuary. It is situated at the end of a private single track road right on the estuary, next to a shell beach too! Local inn serving good food is a very pleasant 15 minute stroll away in the village. Fabulous area for exploring too. We'll be back!

Great house in a stunning location. This is a traditional family home with large rooms and high ceilings. Very well presented and equipped. The views from the bedrooms and living rooms are over the large well kept garden to the sea. The house is right by the sea and the beach is a stone throw away. The access is along a private road which makes the location even more peaceful and quiet yet there is a pleasant pub and restaurant 15 minute easy walk along the road right by the sea. There is a small slipway for launching boats which we put to good use. We had a great weeks holiday here and were lucky enough to be able to extend our stay by a couple of days. Kippford is a hidden gem in Galloway.

This house is in an amazing location! Lovely views no matter what the weather throws at you! The house itself retains its original features and is furnished to a standard in keeping with the Arts and Crafts period of the house! 5 adults and 3 children stayed here for a long weekend and there was enough space or everyone. The children had a great time exploring. Kipfford is a 5 minute walk and the pub in the village overlooks the estuary...perfect for that evening drink or meal. We spent every evening on the beach in front of the house looking in rock pools and taking in the sea air...lovely!! Tesco does shopping delivery to the house so you don't have to worry about those groceries. We would definitely recommend this house and would stay here again.
