“Fantastic lodge in a peaceful location”
The lodge was spacious and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable, as were the settees. My family and I enjoyed a comfortable, relaxing stay and the facilities of the lodge were as described. The lodge itself is set in a very peaceful, pretty location on the site. Warmwell Holiday Park is in a very quiet, scenic location not far from amenities (the Co-op is minutes away or larger supermarkets are nearer Weymouth). Craigs Dairy Farm in Osmington sell delicious tubs of ice-cream and various farm goods. There are a number of beautiful places to visit. Weymouth is only about 20 minutes drive away and Lulworth Cove is also nearby. On site there are numerous activities. My 11 year old daughter enjoyed kayaking, ringos on the ski slope, taking part in WoW Factor and she loved watching the Parkdean Troupers. We had a fantastic holiday.
Thank you so much Zillah. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay at the lodge and hope to welcome you back. Pam.
“Lovely warm cosy and modern lodge”
Really lovely lodge - everything felt brand new. Great park - perfect for kids of all ages. Will definitely book again.
“HOME FROM HOME !!”
Where to start Kingfisher Lodge is absolutely fab......its like home from home. Everything you need is there and more and so easy to book with Pam. The park itself is also good lots of facilities for everyone and close to Weymouth and Poole.
My husband and I had a fabulous week here at the end of the summer holidays with our 6 year old son, 4 month old daughter and dog - it was just perfect, luxuriously decorated, spacious and so peaceful. We didn't do much all week which was just what I needed! just used the on site pool and went for lots of walks with our dog. We had some sunshine during our week and sat on the verandah with a glass of wine of an evening watching the wildlife. Lovely, lovely lodge much nicer than the standard ones on site, a bit of luxury - go on spoil yourselves!
“Luxury Stay in a Great Setting!”
We stayed at the Kingfisher Retreat in August 2012 for one week. The accomodation was modern, clean and very comfortable. It had eveything that a holiday home needs and more. A lot of thought has been put into making guests feel welcome. We stayed here with our 7 yrd old daughter and 2 yr old dog. It is hard to find nice accomodation to stay in when you want to take your family pet..but this was just like home from home. The setting is excellant and we all enjoyed the wild deer, managing to feed a couple as well. (they seemed to like nuts). There were plenty of squirrels and different types of birds to watch!! Out and about, the site is clean and free from any hassle!! The ski slope was good fun, along with the roller skating. Weymouth and Dorchester are both on the doorstep with plenty to do. We never realised just how much there was in Dorset!
“Good, clean accommodation, quiet area, great holiday!”
We were extremely lucky to have a full week of glorious sunshine so this has gone down as one of our best holidays. Booking was easy and Pam was very helpful. The accommodation was clean and as described. The outside decking area was fantastic as it was all fenced in and had a gate so we were able to relax knowing our children were not able to escape! We were able to take full advantage of the outside table and chairs which were clean and comfortable. The lodge is set in a very quiet area and far enough away from the club house to not even know it was there! We used the swimming pool, which had a flume and wave machine, daily. The changing rooms were clean and the pool with it's sloping entrance was great for even the youngest of our three children. The play parks within the site are good, clean and enjoyable for the children. Warmwell is very well positioned for visiting the local attractions such as Weymouth beach, Portland and Lulworth Cove. There was plenty to do both at the site and the surrounding area.
“Home from home - perfect location and loads to do nearby!”
Perfect accommodation, really is 'home from home'. We were lucky with the weather being warm all week and some days hot sunshine! I ordered my food shopping online (Asda) and had it delivered the day we arrived - this really helped, because shopping with 3 boys is no fun! My boys loved fishing in the lakes - the man in the tackle shop was really helpful in setting up our little fishing rod! You can buy maggots from there too (if you're not too squeamish!) We had days out to Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World (with its amazing play area), Corfe Castle and Studland Bay - a beautiful beach, National Trust (so parking free for members). We even swam in the sea - with shortie wetsuits! We also drove down to a local beach, follow the road to Osmington and it's signposted to the left as Beach Cafe. We actually parked in the National Trust parking at top of hill (free for members) and we walked down to the beach - past a farm - through fields and onto the pebbly beach. We even saw the Olympic sailing in the distance! You can also park at the Beach Cafe at the bottom (but need to pay £5 for parking) - perfect for those not able to manage the walk down and back up the hill!) Food, hot drinks and ice-creams for sale at the Beach Cafe too! We also discovered Craig's Dairy Farm which sells it's own homemade ice-cream - very yummy!!!! We had to go back a few times! Again keep on the road to Osmington, past the sign to Beach cafe and you'll eventually come across it on the left hand side. The pool at Warmwell was ok, a bit tired looking and the waterslide is very slow (my 11 year old wasn't impressed) - but ok for a rainy day. As was the indoor play area, my 6 and 7 year olds enjoyed this. There's also the roller rink with music for the teens - and outdoor play areas. You need to pay for passes to use the above indoor facilities, buy these on arrival from the Reception area - next time we may not need them as there's so much to do within 30 minutes of Warmwell we keep ourselves busy. Warmwell and the surrounding area was perfect for my kids as they don't travel in the car very well on long distances, so even having a day out we knew it wouldn't take long to get 'home' to Kingfisher Retreat to make dinner. My boys had fun on their scooters too - riding down the slope of the cul-de-sac where our accommodation was. We also played badminton outside in the evenings. All in all a really lovely holiday...couldn't get the dvd player to work or the wifi but maybe that was just me! Perhaps an idiots guide would have helped me!!!! The evening entertainment at the Hub wasn't for us, but there's a bar, restaurant and stage, plus the inevitable slot machines and noise!! We had a drink one evening but on the whole spent our time at 'home' in the evenings watching the Olympics! We will definitely go back again.
“Relaxing family holiday”
We stayed at Kingfisher Retreat for the second week of the Olympic sailing, and the week after that. As soon as we arrived we felt at home. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the lodge is very well kitted out. Our two boys (13 & 9) got their own bathroom, and good use was made of the washer/dryer. The park is a wonderful setting with each lodge just far enough apart from its neighbours that you feel suitably private. There is a lovely decked terrace to sit out on of an evening, and we enjoyed many morning coffees there too. Towards the end of our second week we were so chilled we weren't waking up until gone 10 and became quite worried about having to go back to work! All in all a brilliant place to stay, and I hope this doesn't become our only visit.
“One word ...... WOW!!!!!”
From the first contact with Pam the owner everything was perfect. Pam was so friendly and accommodating. When we arrived at the lodge we couldn't believe our luck, it is so modern, clean and comfortable, a real home from home with everything you could wish for. The lodge is in a superb location on the park, private and tranquil. The park itself is great and can certainly recommend the on site restaurant, good food and reasonably priced. The park is in a great location for days out, we went to Swanage, Weymouth, Portland, Poole, Dorchester, Lyme Regis and West Bay. Cannot praise Pam and the lodge highly enough, will definitely be back!
Beautiful modern & clean lodge set in a woodland setting with absolutely everything you need. Exactly as the photos show. Park facilities excellent , my teenage son particularly liked the ski slope. We had a great laugh roller skating despite a few bruises !! Lots to do even if it rains. Wildlife was lovely, we had two deer outside one morning. Alfie, our collie didnt know what to make of them ! The area is lovely, we visited Weymouth which had really improved since our visit 20 years ago and Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door were lovely. We were only there for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer as there is loads to do both on the park and the surrounding area !! Pam, the owner, was very helpful. She let us stay on longer on our day of departure and sent my shoes through the post to me after I had left them in the lodge. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Site staff very friendly. Chip shop on site really good. Nice meal at Frampton Arms. Fab lodge and will definitely be booking again !!
