There are buses to Kendal and to Ulverston/Barrow every hour from Lindale, and 2 per hour to Grange station. A service on to Cartmel is infrequent, but the train service to nearby Cark is good and continues to Ulverston and Barrow for an onward service round the west coast. Connections can be made at Kendal for buses (some open top) to the central lakes up to Keswick, and near Ulverston for Coniston. The steamer service up Windermere from Lakeside in the South to Bowness and Ambleside may appeal more. Check the (complicated) combined ticketing options.
