Via Carlisle 45 miles: take the A7 to Langholm. The B709 from Langholm to Eskdalemuir & Ettrick. You will pass Angecroft Caravan Park on your left. Cross the bridge over Ettrick Water & take the first left & left again onto the No Through Road. We are 2 miles further on. Pass Ettrick School (James Hogg Exhibition) & Village Hall, then the War Memorial. Continue until you see a sign for Cossarshill Farm & Holiday Cottage. The farmhouse is on the left.

From Lockerbie 28 miles: leave the M74 at Lockerbie & take the B723 through Boreland to Eskdalemuir, turn left at the church to Ettrick & continue as above. From the A68 (Carter Bar): take the A6088 to Bonchester Bridge & left onto the A698 for approx 1 mile into Hawick or if preferred go to Jedburgh & St Boswells & take the A699 Selkirk Road. From Hawick 20 miles: take the A7 south out of Hawick & turn right onto the B711 just outside the town. We are 20 miles from Hawick. Turn left over the bridge across the Ettrick Water & continue for approx 3 miles on the B709 to Langholm pass Honey Cottage on your left, then take the right fork onto the No Through Road to Ettrick & continue as above for approx 2 miles. From Selkirk, 20 miles: follow the B7009 through Ettrick Bridge village, Once you pass Tushielaw Inn carry on as from Hawick.

From Edinburgh 44 miles: take the A72 through Peebles to Innerleithen & turn right onto the B709 to Traquair. Continue over the hill on the B709 & straight across the A708 at The Gordon Inn. Over the hill again & turn right at the T junction onto the Ettrick Valley road, continue on the B709 past Tushielaw Inn (on your left) but do not cross the river. Three miles past Tushielaw take the right fork onto the No Through Road to Ettrick. We are 2 miles further on. Pass the School & Village Hall & then the War Memorial; continue until you see a sign for Cossarshill Farm & Holiday Cottage - that's us. The farmhouse is on the left.
