Villa Cortona is near to Cortona as well as with easy reach of most important Tuscan places of interest. The nearest airport is Florence airport which is under two hours. Rome airports are under three hours. The renowned Etruscan town of Cortona is only few minutes walk away, with its attractions, such us San Francis hermitage, the Frate Angelico paint works and the Cortona Sun Festival, featuring opera, concerts, wine tasting and antique fairs during the summer.

From the valley floor a 5 km road winds up to the hill top town, which commands sweeping views over Lago Trasimeno and the plain of Valdichiana. Cortona is one of the oldest cities in Tuscany. Founded by the Etruscans whose works can still be seen in the foundations of the town’s massive stone walls. The city was a major seat of power during the medieval period, able to hold its own against larger towns such as Siena and Arezzo.
