Driving: From Malpensa airport follow directions to Milano. This will take you up the highway and onto the motorway (motorway signs are green). This is the A8/E62. Continue towards Milan for a few miles and then take the exit onto the A9/E35 for Como. Go past the turnoff for Como Sud, and past the turnoff for Como Monte Olimpino. You will be high up and it will seem like you are moving away from the lake but don't worry. Come off at the exit for Como Nord, just after a tunnel. This will take you downhill to a traffic island where you will go left to merge onto the SS340, which is the main road up the lake. Signposted Menaggio, Sondrio. You will go straight into another tunnel.
The SS340 goes straight up to Acquaseria. When you come to Menaggio, there are two new tunnels that take this main road traffic away from the town. After these two long tunnels there are some short ones and then you come out into San Siro/Acquaseria village.

Driving from Orio al Serio: Follow signs to Lecco, and at Lecco join the highway signposted for Sondrio. Follow signs for Varenna and at Varenna take the ferry to Menaggio. From Menaggio go north for 3 miles to Acquaseria.
