The nearest airport is just outside Inverness and is well served with flights from London and other cities. British Airways, Flybe, Easyjet, Eastern Airways and Ryanair are some of the airlines offering flights to Inverness. Car hire is available at the airport from Thrifty, Hertz, Avis and Arnold Clark.Ullapool is an 60 minute drive West of Inverness. Take the A9 north out of Inverness over the Kessock bridge. At the Tore roundabout take the A835 to the West and Ullapool and at the next roundabout take the second exit signposted Ullapool. Achiltibuie is a 40 minute drive from Ullapool.

Take the A835 north from Ullapool for 10 miles / 15 minutes passing through Ardmair and Strathcanaird. Turn left at at the sign for Achiltibuie and the Summer Isles and follow the road until you reach Achiltibuie (approximately 15 miles / 25 minutes). This is a wonderful drive through the Inverpolly National Nature Reserve. There is also a direct train service from London Kings Cross to Inverness and a bus service from Edinburgh to Inverness and on to Ullapool and Achiltibuie.
