While having a car isn't an imperative for enjoying your stay at Les Terraces, it does make life easier. There is a train station in the town, which provides direct service to Bordeaux to the west, and Sarlat to the east, with trains running approximately once an hour in each direction. Bicycles can be rented, if you wish, and this can be a lovely way of seeing more of the region at slower pace. There are a few grocery shops within a 1km walk of the house, and lots of boulangeries. There is a veggie stand, or more, in the Place de la Mairie Tuesday & Thursday mornings, and the region's largest weekly market on Saturdays, so you can get most of what you may need in the way of shopping on foot, if you wish.
