DIRECTIONS TO BISBEE CASITA CHIQUITA

Please print these out and have them with you as we aren't always at the computer and don't have a smart phone, so if you get lost and send a message via tripadvisor or email, we might not get it for hours. Also, we are involved in theater performances and if we are away while performing, our cellphone is turned off. Also, if we go off on errands, often the cellphone doesn't work in many areas around Bisbee so we won't even know you are lost. Plus, it is almost impossible to explain over the phone how to find us.

FROM TUCSON AND THE WEST: We are at the north/west end of Bisbee. From Tucson, take I-10 to the Benson exit. Take Highway 80 west from Benson then thru Tombstone and 23 miles later on 80 you go through the long tunnel entering Bisbee city limits. To get into actual Bisbee turn right a few yards after getting out of the tunnel at a green sign for West Blvd/Tombstone Canyon road(Tombstone Canyon Road is the main street leading through residential area to downtown). . At stop sign turn right onto Tombstone Canyon Road. Go about one mile and at end of a very high wall on your right turn right at the Iron Man statue across from on your left Thuy's Restaurant and High Desert Market Cafe and just before Contessa's Cantina and Screamin' Banshee restaurants on the right. Turn right at the staute. Head towards large courthouse and veer to right side of it so you have it on your left and the big Catholic church on your right. (SEE FARTHER DOWN FOR REST OF DIRECTIONS)

DIRECTIONS COMING FROM EAST AND DOUGLAS:. From Highway 80 (via Douglas), at circle/roundabout follow sign to Bisbee, going past the famous lavender pit copper mine on your left (you can stop for a look as it has a big parking lot.) A mile or so after the pit, turn right to "Historic Bisbee", drive thru town heading north (continuing past all the shops) and after passing large 2-story blue building on left called Bisbee Royale, you come to the Screamin' Banshee, Contessa's Cantina and the Iron Man statue all on your left. Turn there and follow the directions below

NOTE: If you google-map our address, 160 Quality Hill Road, it usually will bring you to the small cul de sac.where our house is situated. If not, here are the actual directions:

AFTER GOING BETWEEN the courthouse and the Catholic church, a few feet later, turn left at a creamy handrail and follow the road past the row of creamy sheriff' buildings on the right. Go about a block to where Key St. turns to right to lead to our Higgins Park and Pool but keep going straight past the yellowish house with green trim on the corner that has a PARKING BY PERMIT ONLY sign on its fence.. Just passed its 2-car white-door garage on right, you come to the cul de sac and our light green house is immediately on your right. There is no stop sign there but there is a street sign for Cross Street. We usually have one or both of our cars (ared Honda Fit and black Land Rover) parked in front of our house so that our Casita guests will have our driveway to park in. We don't use the 2 cars we have in our garage when we have guests so don't worry about blocking them in.

.

PARKING: . It's easiest to go into the cul de sac and swing around so you can drive straight into and up our drive. Park CENTERED in the drive so you both can get out of your car easily and won't ding your doors on the low little wall or iron fencing along the drive. Park UP TO THE RED "CONE" and GREEN LINE painted on the drive -- beyond that, the drive pavement separates.

DO NOT PARK in the gravel driveway just beyond our house (facing the house, to the left) as that neighbor has a fit over this and calls out her tribe of fierce javelinas.

CASITA KEY will be available for self-check-in at 3PM. Once parked, on the left near the garage you will see a little gate and a key lockbox attached to it. Open the lockbox with the current code which will be supplied as soon as you provide us with the full name of your travel partner and yourself. Remove the key, walk thru the gate, pass your gazebo and over to the Casita on the right.

CHECK-OUT is 11:00 A.M. So you won't have to fiddle with the lockbox, when checking out, please turn lights and fans off in the Casita and hang the key on the little elephant hook to left of our back door across from your Casita. The elephant hook is on wall under our "doorbells".

YOUR PRIVACY: We do not use the garden, patios or gazebo when we have Casita guests so these are for your exclusive use. We keep our back shades and blinds closed so you can enjoy complete privacy. Our little doggie comes out early in the morning to "water the garden" and if it is hot, our garden elf also waters (with a hose, of course) the garden but both dog and elf are very quiet.

If you DO need help with anything, don't hesitate to phone us as we don't usually hear the doorbell and aren't always at the computer. Leave a voice mail message and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Esplorare i dintorni

For guests visiting Old Bisbee for their first visit, the hosts recommend taking one of the Jeep tours around town offered by several companies. Several golf-cart drivers offer free shuttle service back to the Casita (no fee but a minimum tip of $3/person) on weekends, some weekdays and always during special events....you just flag them down and tell them you want 160 Quality Hill Road and tell them we are across from the art cars. Walking is definitely the best way to see the charming downtown. If you wish to explore farther afield out-of-town, a car is needed.
